Prose on Pixels is the end-to-end production entity of the Havas global network of advertising agencies. We produce videos across a broad cross-section of genres and techniques - everything from live action broadcast to complex 3D animation, to intricate motion graphics. We have studios across 13 countries, producing content in over 80 languages.
The role of Production Engineer is focused on providing support of our production technology stack for our New York Studio. You will be working with a global team of engineers across our studios and reporting to the Head of Technology in New York. This is an on-sight position. Applicants will be required to be in office a minimum of 3 days a week and may require as many as 5 days a week at our downtown office.
The Production Support Engineer is a key member of our Prose on Pixel Production Technology Team, combining technical expertise with a passion for empowering creative workflows. You will collaborate with artists and producers to troubleshoot technical challenges, maintain our cutting-edge post-production infrastructure, and implement solutions that enhance the studio's creative capabilities. This role offers a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between technology and artistry, contributing to the success of our video projects.
Job Requirements:
- Provide technical support to our staff at our NYC-based studio.
- Provide first-line technical support for all post-production software and hardware.
- Setup, maintenance and support of edit suites in NYC Office.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to editing, color grading, audio mixing, and finishing.
- Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of post-production workstations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest post-production technologies and workflows
- Liaising with Havas IT desktop and infrastructure teams including managing incidents and escalations.
- Purchasing, license management and deployment of various production software including applications, plugins and scripts.
- Writing and maintaining documentation on various technical systems and procedures.
- Assist onboarding new staff vendors and freelancers to our tech stack.
- Manage the assignment and access to workstations to remote workers via Jump Desktop (update and setup new users).
- Help manage asset lifecycle including archiving and restoring assets to various technologies
- Manage and maintain storage systems (local and cloud) and ensure data integrity and accessibility.
- Collaborate with global tech leadership to backup and prepare disaster recovery procedures.
- Streamline post-production workflows to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Develop and implement automation tools and scripts.
- Train post-production staff on best practices and new technologies.
- Assist with project setup and delivery, including media management, transcoding, and QC.
- Collaborate with editors, colorists, and mixers to troubleshoot technical challenges.
- Oversee any in-office live event, and familiar with hosting live streams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 6 months+ of experience in a post-production environment.
- Strong knowledge of post-production software and hardware.
- Proficiency in scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
