Are you an experienced systems engineer looking to contribute to nationally significant defense programs? Our team at APL is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer for the Force Projection Sector to provide vital systems engineering expertise for Navy and Air Force strategic deterrence capabilities. As a key contributor, you will lead concept development, requirements analysis, and test & evaluation for strategic deterrent systems while collaborating with a dedicated team of technical specialists.
Responsibilities:
- Lead systems engineering efforts focusing on requirements analysis, concept development, risk assessments, and test and evaluation for strategic deterrent systems.
- Utilize tools to analyze weapon system capabilities and support future weapon system requirements.
- Participate in design and requirements reviews and provide domain expertise for research and analysis on current and future weapons system capabilities.
- Deliver formal presentations to sponsors and effectively communicate proposed concepts/solutions and analysis results.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or related field.
- Proven experience in systems engineering for the design, development, or evaluation of complex weapon systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead diverse, multidisciplinary teams and interact effectively with industry and government sponsors.
- Active Secret security clearance and eligibility for Top Secret clearance.
