As the VPII of Software Engineering for Portfolio Accounting, Multi-Custody and Order Entry at LPL, you will lead a team of technology professionals who are responsible for overseeing the current state technology and operations supporting LPL’s growing base of advisors, institutions, and $1.2T in AUM. Moreover, considering LPL’s past and projected future growth, you will be responsible for collaborating with product and business partners to define and execute on the future state transformation, parts of which require an assessment and rehaul of 3rd party applications, platform scalability and resiliency and migration to the cloud with an eye to sustainability, quality and enabling business efficiencies. You will play a critical role in creating an experience that both delights clients and reduces LPL’s cost to serve.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and transform LPL’s Portfolio Accounting, Multi-Custody and Order Entry Technology through thought leadership and relevant experience as the teams work to define future state.
  • Develop positive relationships with business and product partners to understand their needs, manage expectations, deliver value-add solutions and support translation of problem statements into system requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with critical vendor partners to understand capabilities and bring ideas on how to leverage existing and new capabilities aligned to business goals.
  • Use customer and business feedback to inform roadmaps and non-functional goals.
  • Establish a vision, align employees to it and clearly articulate the path to achieve the vision.
  • Drive and participate in activities which drive the design and development of high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems, full application life-cycle coordination and management of deliverables in alignment with best practices and organizational compliance goals.
  • Collaborate with other shared services teams (technical and non-technical) to ensure solutions and platforms are both functional and sustainable.
  • Coach and mentor direct reports for performance, development, and engagement of them, and for them to do the same for the teams they lead.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of demonstrated development team leadership in Agile and/or product-based delivery methodologies.
  • 15+ years of experience within a combination of .NET, Angular and JavaScript, SQL Server, AWS, Git, Visual Studio and/or front-end technologies.
  • Superior communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Expert consensus-builder who drives change across initiatives within and outside direct accountability and evaluates solutions to the most complex business challenges.
  • Demonstrated experience in shaping a strategic vision, driving execution and leading change.
  • Track record for building and leading diverse teams and growing/hiring successors.

Pay Range:

$199,400-$299,100/year

Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
