Job Description
This Vice President is responsible for leading and managing the data platforms, infrastructure, data engineering, product management and business intelligence work for the Global Data Office. This position will lead the team to support the function. This is an essential role leading our strategic pillar to democratize data and analytics across Visa and for our clients, to unlock the value of our data. Initial focus areas include:

Data Platforms: critical in shaping the future direction of our business and works hands-on with the Global Data Office (GDO) leadership team and the Data and AI Platform Technology leadership team to frame and address critical business strategy and operational needs that drive how we collect, manage, and work with data. In close partnership with the Data Technology team, responsible for defining and driving the appropriate data technology and capabilities needed to unleash the value of our data for Visa and our clients. With data being the fuel that drives our future, our strategic and technological approaches to how we collect, manage and work with data will define Visa’s future growth prospects. This body of work includes responsibility for helping the CDO and the GDO leadership team and Visa’s overall data leadership executives more broadly, to define the critical operational processes and technological approaches to how we work with data.
Data Engineering: collaborate with Technology at Visa to address tool and technology challenges, enhancing data science and engineering tasks for increased efficiency and innovation. Will also provide innovative thought leadership for delivering scalable, well-controlled data insights to diverse clients through a services-oriented architecture, and will collaborate with Data Products, Data Policy, and Data Governance & Platforms to develop market-leading solutions. Effective storytelling to explain the tools and technology, building a world-class team of data engineers, fostering an engaged and motivated global data engineering culture, and expanding operations to cost-effective markets are key responsibilities. Additionally, the role includes contributing to the ongoing evolution of Visa’s data strategy.
Product Management: responsible for defining and executing the vision, strategy, and roadmap for data products, ensuring alignment with business goals. Drive a transformation from the current product centric model, to more of a platform model to drive scale and flexibility. In addition, the leader will be responsible for driving the Merchant Data platform. Will lead cross-functional teams to develop, launch, and enhance data products while conducting market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities. Engaging with stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure product alignment with user needs is critical. Includes building and mentoring a high-performing product management team and establishing key performance indicators to measure success. Ensuring regulatory compliance, overseeing budget management, staying abreast of industry trends, and effectively communicating product vision and updates to senior leadership are also key responsibilities.
Business intelligence: oversee data management, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and accessibility from various sources. Will leads the design and implementation of advanced analytics, reporting systems, and dashboards to provide actionable insights. Building and mentoring a high-performing BI team, collaborating with stakeholders to understand and meet their data needs, and establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) are crucial aspects of the role. Will also manage BI tools and technologies, ensure compliance with data governance and privacy regulations, oversee the BI budget, and stay current with industry trends and best practices to continually enhance BI processes and solutions.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
