As a CNC Machinist, you will build industrial overhead cranes and material handling equipment for a variety of industries, including shipyards, steel factories, and lumber mills. You will operate various machines such as CNC lathes and CNC machining centers to produce products including shafts, wheels, pinions/gears, drums, sheaves, and related machined crane components. This role involves 1-2 set-ups per day, reading and interpreting part drawings, maintaining accurate records and reports, ensuring proper inspections, and performing preventative maintenance.SkillsAbility to operate a variety of CNC Mills and LathesFamiliarity with Fanuc systemsSet-ups at the machinesOverhead crane operationWork Environment1st Shift - 5:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.2nd Shift - 3:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m.You will be working in a facility with multiple machining centers and machine variations (CNC and Manual Machines). Most of the work involves repairing and upgrading crane parts that are sent back from the field. These parts can be newer or very old, requiring adaptability. Most parts require an overhead crane to move as they can weigh over a ton.
