Founded in 1963, Townley Engineering & Manufacturing is a rapidly growing, American-made solutions expert for wear and abrasion problems found in the mining, dredging, and power industries. We have an available opportunity for a CNC Machine Operator.
The CNC Machine operator must be reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. You will need to have a willingness to learn and improve. Being a team player is essential this position requires collaboration with co-workers.
Essential Functions:
• Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle
• Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
• Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
• Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
• Test operation of machines periodically
• Fix issues that might occur during the shift
• Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
• Maintain activity logs
• Performing routine inspections of manufacturing equipment
• Evaluating the efficiency of each unit regularly, identifying improvements as needed
• Shear materials for jobs as needed
• Inspect for defects and ensure proper sizing
• Run machinery efficiently
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area
• Adhere to safety guidelines, company policies, and operational protocols

Work Experience:
• Ability to read tape measures and calipers
• Experience with machines, drillers and routers a plus
• Ability to proactively troubleshoot problems
• Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
• Analytical skills and attention to detail
• Basic computer input skills
• Ability to work scheduled hours and comply with the company's timekeeping policy and all other company policies
Required Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted. Physical capability to properly handle tooling and safely set up large pieces; including lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning products. Must be able to stand, sit, bend and climb for long periods of time.
Work Environment:
Manufacturing environment: loud noise levels, high temperatures, dirt and sand.
Required PPE: steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, dust masks, and/or respirators.
