This is a hybrid position that requires individuals to work 2 days a week from our Administrative building in Cedar Falls, IA.

SUMMARY

The Senior Web Developer is part of the development team responsible for maintaining the credit union’s internal and external websites. This position builds custom integrations with 3rd party systems/APIs, designs code, creates relational databases, and tests all projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain credit union’s internal and external websites.
  • Produce a consistent visual image on the site by promoting uniform fonts, formatting, branding, icons, images, layout techniques, and modularization.
  • Research new technologies and trends in internet communications. Apply current technologies and standards to website functions.
  • Design, code, and test web based technical solutions.
  • Maintain relationship and act as liaison between the Credit Union and 3rd party vendors.
  • Work with the UI/UX designer and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works.
  • Work with 3rd parties and create cohesive solutions by leveraging APIs, SDKs, or other similar methods.
  • Implement secure coding and data protection best practices.
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Develop and support projects from conception to implementation.
  • Collaborate with Technology Services when needed to create, configure, and support web server environments.
  • Ability to translate complex data and situations into simple and precise language for the rest of the organization.
  • On call availability required for system support as needed (includes nights and weekends).

WORKING CONDITIONS

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines.

TRAVEL

Limited travel expected.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience of 8+ years.
  • 5+ years of Web Development experience, preferably in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in the following: HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, JavaScript, AJAX, VBScript, Bootstrap, Angular, SEO and WCAG principles.
  • Advanced proficiency in the following: ASP.NET, C#.NET, VB.NET, MVC, MVVM pattern, Razor syntax.
  • Experience with web services and API integrations.
  • Experience building reusable code and libraries for future use.
  • Basic understanding of OWASP security principles.
  • Knowledge of physical database design and database schemas that represent and support business processes. (SQL/MySQL).
  • Strong design sense along with a methodical attention to detail.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Hands-on experience with Google Dialog Flow CX as well as other components within the Google Contact Center AI suite of capabilities.
  • Experience with NLU voice/chatbots (Google DialogFlow ES or CX, Amazon Lex, Nuance, etc.).
  • Experience working with systems that perform tasks such as online banking, mobile banking, bill payment, or electronic statements.
  • Proficient understanding of SEO and WCAG principles.
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
