As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer , you will cover all areas of Safety, Quality, Manufacturing Performance Improvement, World Class Manufacturing, Process and Capital Improvement, and Personal Growth.

You will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Lead and work onsite in the Huntsville, Alabama plant.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for driving improvement and maximizing productivity among the products and processes associated with one or more work cells.
  2. Serve as a technical resource for production team in the work cell. Work closely with operators to eliminate barriers to production. Provide technical support for day-to-day operations.
  3. Priorities include improving product quality and manufacturability, increasing process capacity, improving process safety, reducing variation within product and process, reducing cycle times and setup times, and adopting new technologies to modernize manufacturing processes.
  4. Track and analyze relevant production metrics within work cell. Utilize production data to identify opportunities for improvement and track progress.
  5. Team Player: Collaborate with quality team, design engineering team, new product development team, safety team, analytical lab, operators, and other manufacturing engineers on a regular basis to resolve problems, improve manufacturing processes, and improve safety of the work environment.

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum education - Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology or related engineering field required.
  2. 5 years of experience preferred.
  3. Manufacturing experience, including systems and technology.
  4. Experience with higher level quality systems; AS9145, AS9102, AS9100 preferred.
  5. Experience working within ERP, MRP Enterprise system (QAD or equivalent).
  6. Six Sigma Green Belt (or similar Continuous Improvement) certification preferred.
  7. Experience in Aerospace and Defense preferred.
  8. Work well in a team and work closely with individuals who have functional responsibility for specific areas, including manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and marketing personnel.
  9. US Citizen or Permanent Resident required. Ability to acquire security clearances a plus.
