Provides specialized risk control engineering services in accordance with best practices and compliance regulations to help acquire and retain profitable business. This senior role provides specialized fire protection, property, boiler and machinery risk control to energy and marine clients.

This position is a remote opportunity on our energy team. Candidate must be current and up-to-date with the latest technologies associated with Power Generation, Solar, Wind and Battery Energy Storage systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
1. Conducts onsite surveys and/or inspections of client related fire protection equipment, boiler and machinery and property.
2. Services large commercial/industrial risks of large size and/or complexity.
3. Conducts consistent reviews of client loss prevention reports, recommendations and engineering reports.
4. Conducts maximum foreseeable loss and maximum probable loss scenarios for clients, using industry data.
5. Executes complex safety engineering projects for clients.
6. Applies special consulting skill or knowledge based on industry or line of coverage experience.
7. Accomplishes risk improvement by providing management consultation services, developing recommendations for hazard control, and providing direct support services to the insured.
8. Performs risk management assessments for client and prospects.
9. Assist clients in determining and prioritizing capital improvement projects.
10. Facilitates communication of technical information between producers, underwriters, carrier loss control specialists and clients.
11. Coordinate insurance company risk control services for clients.
12. Documents success stories or positive controls implemented by clients.
13. Participates in team activities, engineering studies, evaluations, assessments and special projects designed to help retain clients.
14. Writes white papers or articles on technical subjects related to safety or risk and technical bulletins for energy and marine clients on emerging risks.
15. Coordinate with marketing and production staff to provide responses to insurance underwriting inquiries regarding energy and marine client technology.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
1. Must have a Bachelor's degree
2. Ten years of loss control engineering experience
3. Broad knowledge of engineering principles and risk control concepts, and safety standards and codes such as NFPA and NERC
4. Must have industry designations, including Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Certified Engineering Technician (CET), Associate (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) or a degree in Engineering
5. Experience in an insurance carrier fire protection consulting role or boiler and machinery risk control engineer
6. Excellent communication skills and able to communicate with various levels of client management
7. Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products
Preferred Qualifications:
1. A Master's degree in a science or engineering discipline or ten years of industry experience
2. Member of professional society, e.g. National Safety Council, American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE)
3. Pursue a program of personal, professional and career development
