Access Database Developer/ Architect

American Products, Inc. Job Duties for Access Database Developer / Architect

  • First and foremost, must have 5+ Years Extensive Access and SQL Database Experience, both designing and maintaining Microsoft Access databases versions 2013 - 365
  • Create and manage databases and tables, both standalone and linked
  • Perform queries of all types, as needed
  • Create and manage forms with many sub-forms with coding
  • Reporting – creating very complex, custom reports which will involve macros /temporary tables, coding, etc.
  • Reporting - creating reports that email table designs as reports within emails.
  • Reporting - creating and sending very detailed, complex reports to staff from access databases, etc.
  • Manage 25+ databases
  • Create SQL views and links to databases
  • Security setups in both Access development and in Exchange Active directory.
  • Continuously enhance user experience by making necessary changes to Access databases.
  • Other responsibilities as required


Job Requirements for the Access Database Developer / Architect

  • Strong skills in VBA, and HTML required to perform required duties
  • SQL backend exp. required for various databases
  • Strong access database development absolutely required
  • Macros and modules exp a must
  • Must be comfortable assisting users daily and multi-tasking on a daily basis
  • Must be very comfortable working with different types of databases and hardware
  • Microsoft Certification a plus
  • Crystal reports writing experience a plus
  • Experience working with accounting software and integrating data between access and accounting software (including Sage 100) a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange and setup of user emails and distribution groups a plus
  • Experience with Goldmine, Quotewerks, a plus as well


Technical IT Experience Preferred but not Required as well, to include:

  • Set up user emails and distribution groups
  • Coordinate software installation or upgrades and monitor implementation process
  • Setup computers for new hires
  • Software installation, printer installation, etc.
  • Assisting all staff as various IT needs arise
  • Inventory computers and tracking of software licensing
  • Support 3CX phone system maintenance
