Senior Developer

Health Care Service Corporation seeks a Senior Developer at its facility located at 300 E Randolph St, Chicago, IL 60601.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide high-level and detailed estimates on work packages.
2. Support the Production Environment by monitoring performance metrics and alerts.
3. Identify critical software issues and assist in fixing software bugs.
4. Work with business users to identify project needs and clarify use cases/JIRA stories.
5. Collaborate with the SCRUM Team to deliver quality code that meets all acceptance criteria.
6. Perform application design and coordinate with internal and external entities to provide technical solutions.
7. Create technical documentation.
8. Conduct Code Reviews for all development work.
9. Plan software release schedules.
10. Mentor and coach junior developers.

Minimum Requirements:

This position requires a bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Electrical, Electronic, Management Information Systems, or a related field, plus four years of experience as a Senior Developer or in a related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have professional experience with:

1. Utilizing Java/J2EE for analysis, technical design, and developing prototypes for implementation.
2. Application of AWS Cloud computing design and deployment of MS and Kafka components to AWS production environment.
3. Spring Boot, Java 8, and microservices development for applications using Kafka Processor API to process messages stored in Pgadmin.
4. Configuration of web service security on distributed systems for REST and SOAP Web Services, using SB & JWT secure tokens, and integration with third-party systems for secure data exchange.
5. Troubleshooting and providing root cause analysis of performance issues and cost-effective solutions for critical defects.
