EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for Software Engineer (Satellite System Terminal) in our Hughes Network Systems division. This position is located in our Gaithersburg, MD office.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design and develop satellite user terminal software to allow customers to connect with the low-orbit satellite.
• Develop C/C++ based software to control and monitor the satellite user terminal hardware like Modem, GPS receiver and antenna in a real-time embedded environment. Develop TypeScript and Angular based website to help customers configure the network settings and monitor the satellite connection status. Design and develop algorithms to optimize the satellite network performance.

Basic Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering or a closely related field plus 6 months’ experience in satellite communication systems or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering or a closely related field plus 5 years’ experience in satellite communication systems.
• Experience must include 6 months in each of the following: C/C++; TypeScript; Angular; ExpressCpp; Git; CMake; Docker; Linux; Python; Open SSL; and SQL.

Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
