Software Engineer Co-op

At Thomson Reuters Special Service we bring together the world's most creative minds to support our clients' critical missions and empower data for good. We are looking for a talented, technical and creative co-op with software development skills.

As a Software Engineer Co-op on the TRSS team, you will be working on projects that support and extend the full stack of the TRSS solutions suite. This role requires a full stack engineer who is comfortable with data-intensive systems and frontend UI development. There will be opportunity to learn about new technologies and engage in new development.

About the Role
As a Software Engineer Co-op , you will contribute to a variety of areas including:

• Learn new technologies and frameworks
• Participate in the review of specifications and estimating process
• Write well-designed, well-constructed, and well-tested code
• Support programming changes during quality assurance and product rollout
• Willingness to learn about software development best practices

About You
You're a good fit for the role of Software Engineer Co-op if you:

• Communicate effectively (verbal and written) to different audiences
• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Continuously learning new skills and technologies
• Good team player
• Understanding of computer science principles and algorithms
• Experience coding in Java or Python
• Preferred experience with the following: Javascript, Angular, React, SQL, Mongo, Elasticsearch, Kafka, Docker
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance
