What You Can Expect

We are looking for a Sr. DevOps Engineer to join our Realtime DevOps Team. You'll be responsible for system performance, availability, and resiliency. You'll work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. You'll demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. This role will network with senior internal and external personnel in their own area of expertise.


About The Team

The Realtime DevOps Team operates the company's complex high traffic, business critical network-based communication systems. They plan, design and implement scalable network solutions between multiple platforms and protocols (including IP and VOIP) used by video conference and live stream technologies.


Responsibilities

  1. Performing large scale software application configuration and deployment for core services powering Zoom video conference.
  2. Doing capacity planning and scaling services across the globe.
  3. Developing tools to automate and improve production support tasks; SRE monitoring for critical systems.
  4. Implementing advanced DevOps technologies and best practices to continuously refine our global deployment infrastructure with goals to improve deployment velocity and reliability.
  5. Providing production escalation support.
  6. Being on-call occasionally to provide service coverage with other department employees.

What We're Looking For

  1. Have 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree or 6 years with a Master's degree.
  2. Have scripting and programming language experience: Python, Go, C++, Java.
  3. Have expertise in shell scripting, Linux command line utilities.
  4. Experience with automating the build process of complex production software systems.
  5. Experience working with CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code tools: Jenkins, Terraform, CloudFormation.
  6. Have in-depth knowledge of network stack and application networking.
  7. Have solid troubleshooting experience within a large scale production environment.
  8. Have excellent organization skills, attention to detail, ability to independently prioritize tasks.

Minimum Salary Range or On Target Earnings: $118,600.00

Maximum: $259,500.00

In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed, Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration base salary, bonus, and equity value.
