Computer Aided Design Designer

Join our client, a leading electric utility provider, as a CAD Drafting Technician, where you’ll produce precise engineering documents that contribute to innovative energy solutions. You’ll gather engineering data, conduct field investigations, and create comprehensive design drawings using CADD techniques. Responsibilities:

• Produce accurate, thorough, and easily understood engineering documents using manual or CADD techniques and related software.
• Assist in developing Plant Design Change packages or manage simple to medium job package projects that are technically sound and meet deadlines.
• Gather, organize, and develop engineering data; perform field investigations to determine as-built conditions and design requirements; and conduct studies and computations for design drawings.
• May participate in plant walk-downs for constructability and design verification.
• Ensure that all project commitments are achieved and comply with procedures, regulations, and selected codes and standards.
• Compile required documentation for assigned projects into complete packages, submit for review and approval, and expedite transmittal to appropriate field units.
• Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve issues.
• Demonstrate proficiency with all systems and applications used in project design.
• Work effectively in a team environment, contributing positively to team dynamics.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or technical certification in AutoCAD (preferably AutoCAD AUD) is required.
• Minimum of two years of experience in electrical utility design.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, along with proficiency in PC applications in a Windows environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail, ability to work well in a team setting, and commitment to delivering accurate and timely project results.
• Must possess strong soft skills, as collaboration is a key part of the role.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
