Description
The Project Engineer is responsible for:
- Interacting with clients to generate business and build long-term relationships
- Estimating costs for construction projects, generating quotations, and HVAC load estimates
- Reading and understanding construction project plans and using AutoCAD as needed
- Coordinating and managing projects to meet plans, specifications, schedules, and customer requirements
- Scheduling technicians and ensuring timely project completion
- Owning project responsibilities: client coordination, on-site meetings, equipment ordering, subcontractor management, scheduling, and cost tracking
- Ensuring project profitability and timely pricing of change orders
- Working well with employees, subcontractors, customers, and other trades
- Demonstrating flexibility to adapt to projects and working outside standard hours when needed
- Obtaining supplier quotations, purchasing equipment, and writing subcontracts
- Performing tasks as directed by the Vice President of Construction
- Ensuring professional, neat, clean, and minimally disruptive work for customers
- Assisting other departments and expanding knowledge through training
- Involving management to resolve conflicts
- Providing professional, courteous service to exceed customer expectations and encourage repeat business
Profile
The right candidate has the following qualifications:
- Mechanical Engineer (BSME)
- Background in Commercial HVAC through schooling or field experience
- AutoCAD experience preferred
- MUST HAVE valid drivers license
- Excellent communication skills
