We are seeking a Principal Research & Development Engineer to provide technical leadership and ensure the successful development and delivery of high-quality, reliable systems that meet both customer needs and business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead cross-functional teams in research and development projects, translating ideas and requirements into innovative products and solutions.
• Apply R&D principles to explore new technologies and methodologies, focusing on reliability, safety, and performance.
• Drive the development, testing, and refinement of prototypes and systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Champion the adoption of best practices in research, development, usability, and reliability.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends to guide innovation and continuous improvement in product development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in R&D, particularly with complex systems that combine software, hardware, and fluidic subsystems.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and drive projects to completion.
• Strong understanding of risk management, system modeling, and customer-focused design.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in a regulated environment, including ISO and risk management standards.
• Familiarity with product development and R&D processes in the medical or biotech industries.
• Expertise in system integration, statistical methods, and human factors engineering.

Location: Northern California. The company will assist with relocation.
