Electrical Engineer

My client is an internationally known MEP Engineering consulting firm. They are actively seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer who has strong MEP Consulting Engineering experience. Duties include:

1. Execute electrical designs in accordance with the Electrical Department’s Procedures and Standards and specific client standards where applicable.
2. Work in conjunction with the Managing Principal, Project Managers, and Electrical Team Leader to plan the work and balance deliverables with budgets.
3. Maintain understanding of project schedule, status, and technical issues. Review all designs issued prior to client submission with supervisor and Department Head.
4. Able to lead the technical team and deliver design for various clients. Provide support to assigned staff on technical and administrative issues.
5. Maintain a strong understanding of all associated Codes and Standards and ensure compliance in all Team activities.
6. Continuously improve the Team’s deliverable quality, communications, attitude, and efficiency.
7. Responsible for the design of power distribution, lighting, emergency and standby power supply in accordance with all applicable NEC codes and standards.
8. Develop and evaluate best engineering solutions for projects, including commercial, mission critical, healthcare, science, technology, government, and specialty markets.
9. Work as part of the project team in the production of engineering solutions for large scale and complex building projects, coordinating with other design team members including architects, mechanical, or structural engineers to ensure electrical systems are integrated with the project’s goals.
10. Manage budgets and scope of work.
11. Perform Construction Administration tasks such as field visits and subsequent issuance of field reports, responding to RFIs, and reviewing shop drawings.
12. Perform studies associated with conceptual designs which may require site surveys of existing conditions, system sizing, and definition of required space for anticipated electrical equipment.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

OPERATIONS & STAFF DEVELOPMENT

1. Actively manage technical tasks and project efforts within the Electrical Team in close coordination with the Electrical Lead, balancing deliverables, client expectations, and budget based upon the allocated fee.

KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

1. Exceptional knowledge of Excel, Revit, SKM, AGI 32, and AMPCALC 4 required.
2. Strong analytical ability.
3. Proven leadership experience.
4. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
5. Degreed (BSEE preferred) and licensed or ability to attain licensure in MA within one year.
