Scherer Design Group, LLC (SDG) is a consulting engineering firm providing full-service site design to the telecommunications and utility industry. Join our team as we assist clients to improve technology and capacity of their existing networks.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Development and review of construction drawings, specifications, and calculations for new and existing cell sites
· Perform site inspections and condition assessments on existing sites and on projects under construction
· Prepare design calculations for various structural elements including foundations, retaining walls, structural steel members columns and beams as well as reinforced concrete elements
· Prepare sketches and be able to draw using AutoCAD
· Prepare structural analysis models using RISA-3D, O-Calc Pro and tnxTower software
· Conduct field inspections and condition assessments and prepare reports
· Write structural reports and letters
· Perform structural investigations and roof probes
Projects including, but not limited to:
· Modifying and Analyzing Existing Structures
· Structural Stability, Shoring & Bracing
· Demolition Means & Methods
· Forensic Engineering & Reports
· Property Condition Assessments
· Inspection of Installation of Cell Site
Job Specifications, Standards and Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering science required, concentration in civil/structural recommended
· Knowledge of ASIC, ACI, ASCE codes and local building codes
· Experience with developing drawings in AutoCAD
· Knowledge of building envelope structural components
· Knowledge of construction drawing standards
· Excellent communication and writing skills
· Ability to perform inspections of sites and other structures, both visually and with instruments
· Ability to read construction drawings, diagrams, printed materials and computer screens
· Ability to record data clearly and write passages for reports, letters, etc.
· Ability to drive and safely operate a motor vehicle (NJ, PA, NYC & NYS)
