Job Requirements / Description
- Perform electrical calculations and circuit/system analysis.
- Size electrical equipment, including service entrance, power distribution panels, and MCC's.
- Review and recommend trip settings for protective devices.
- Perform Arc Flash Evaluations to determine the incident energy and arc flash boundary (or as a minimum, functional understanding of elements involved).
- Determine and review Load flow, short circuit, and TCC curves for system optimization.
- Determine and recommend protective clothing requirements based on study output.
- Make recommendations to reduce fault clearing times or arc flash hazards.
- Perform power system modeling and analysis, including gathering field data.
- Perform electrical fault calculations, load flow, coordination, and determine arc flash hazards.
- Perform CAD drafting on projects, as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (power discipline) from an ABET Accredited Institution.
- Review and approve shop drawings and submittals
- Professional Engineering (PE) License or ability to obtain within one year.
- Previous experience in the design of power distribution, control systems, lighting, and grounding systems.
- Proficient understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Proficient in the following software: AutoCAD, SKM, or Easy Power.
- Understanding and use of NFPA70E.
- Knowledge of arc flash hazards and OSHA standards.
- Familiarity with resource scheduling.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as verbal and written communications.
- Ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels of the Company in a team environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with owner representatives and other disciplines to define objectives and project scope.
- Ability to lead and coordinate work to develop construction documents.
