Leading autonomy programs and 17 of the top 20 global OEMs use Applied’s solutions to bring autonomy to market faster.About The Role (We are hiring for all levels of experience.)We are looking for a rendering engineer with deep expertise in realtime rendering and computer graphics. You would be responsible for the Vulkan rendering back-end that powers our sensor simulations. At Applied, we encourage all engineers to take ownership over technical and product decisions, interact closely with users to collect feedback, and contribute to a thoughtful, dynamic team culture.At Applied, you will:
- Optimize C++ and shader code for performance across the core camera render passes and raytraced sensor models
- Work with our rendering back-end for our sensor models that utilize the Vulkan API
- Modify our rendering engine for specific sensors and features including Lidars, Radars, and thermal cameras
- Experience shipping AAA titles or has equivalent experience shipping Unreal Engine specific projects
- Strong C++ knowledge and the ability to program and architect various core engine systems
- Excellent knowledge of a broad range of graphics APIs and shader languages including Vulkan
- Strong background in 3D math and rendering algorithms
- Prior experience in either autonomous vehicles or simulation products
- Prior experience working on custom rendering engines
