As a Senior Engineer Technician, you will play a significant role among a group of engineers and technicians in the development and certification of the next generation of gas turbine engines with ownership in the flow facility, compressor rig, core engine or turbine rig test facility. Our overarching mission is to ensure that our customers obtain the data they need the first time. We develop, own and maintain the facilities and test processes that enable the development, certification and long-term support of the entirety of the E&PS product families.U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTSDue to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintains and improves the assigned test facility in a way that ensures the cell is ready to execute tests for the current and future Honeywell product linesProvides constructive feedback on test plans and test approachesModels Safety, HOS, Behaviors and Continuous ImprovementApplies knowledge of complex mechanical products test methods to learn engine, rig, facility systems and test equipmentSupports team in establishing solutions to meet requirements for innovative test solutions for new and existing productsYOU MUST HAVE:High School Diploma or GED2 years of directly related experience as a Turbine Engine or Aviation technician or 5 years of experience testing complex mechanical systemsUS Citizenship or Permanent Residency due to export rulesThe ability to work off-shift regularly (once sufficiently trained) – Shifts may change depending on the test under executionWE VALUEThe ability to work in a lab environment, occasionally lifting (up to 35 lb.) and working with large mechanical test equipment and systems including powered industrial vehiclesThe ability to work outdoorsThe ability to work occasional overtime (20% is not unusual)The ability to travel occasionally (<10%)Direct experience executing complex and/or unique gas turbine engine tests independentlyDirect experience supporting change efforts that benefit the team and other test stakeholders while improving teamworkDirect experience supporting safety initiatives and data-driven continuous improvementStrong troubleshooting skills with complex, integrated mechanical systems with emphasis on driving the team to identify root cause as well as contributing causes – and playing a lead role in recommending and implementing corrective actionsIndividuals who are self-motivated and able to work independently – toward achieving team, project and organization visionDemonstrated ability to make timely decisions in the face of ambiguous and complex situationsRelevant advanced education (or equivalent military experience) supporting work being done in at Engines & Power Systems (i.e. A&P school/license)Honeywell is an equal opportunity employer.
