Market America , a Global Product Brokerage and Internet Marketing company that specializes in One-to-One Marketing, is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer for our IT team.
Position Summary
The Junior Site Reliability Engineer leverages experience with software and process engineering to ensure alignment between the Software Development Lifecycle and IT Operations. The role is responsible for leveraging automation tools and standardized processes to improve efficiency and reliability throughout the environment. This role works to mitigate the risks associated with the automation of build, integration, and deployment processes, actively looking for ways to improve and enhance the CICD pipeline. The Junior Site Reliability Engineer is responsible for assisting in the management of our code repositories and development tools. The ideal candidate would have a strong understanding of software development life cycles and Operations processes, with experience developing code and using Jenkins and other relevant tools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to a culture that is constantly Pursuing Maximum Change Velocity.
- Monitor environments for application faults and failures, performance, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with participants in the software development process, including developers and testers in respective environments.
- Assist in the design and administration of the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CICD) systems.
- Develop and maintain automated build, configuration management, and deployment tools to support multiple technology stacks.
- Assist in source and binary repository operations, including branch management, merging, and backup/data security.
- Integrate build process and tools with defect tracking, automated test harnesses, static analysis, and reporting tools.
- ColdFusion Development for internal support tool.
- Emergency and Incident Response.
- Assist with Demand Forecasting and Capacity Planning.
- Manage inherent risks associated with software releases.
- Maintain documentation for all relevant processes and procedures.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
- One year of experience in Release Engineering role.
- One year of experience in development with cross-platform build scripts.
- Or combination of equivalent experience, education, and training.
Skills
- Proficiency in:
- Jenkins, Git, Artifactory, OpenShift
- ColdFusion Development
- Shell and Groovy Scripting
- Linux
- AWS and/or Azure
- JAVA/J2EE, Python, ColdFusion, SQL
