YOU

As a Software QA (Quality Assurance) Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring total customer satisfaction in your role as team QA: developing and running test cases, implementing automated testing, and monitoring continuous delivery builds.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  1. Provide QA functions for ensuring high quality delivery, including executing test cases, clearly documenting defects with reproducible instructions, and generally tracking such defects. (50%)
  2. Develop test cases & assist in the development of automated test coverage. (25%)
  3. Participate in Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Review and Sprint Retros as part of the Agile Scrum software development lifecycle. (25%)

Desired Skills And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or technology, information systems or software engineering course of study or relevant experience required
  • 2+ years relevant software QA experience
  • Construction industry experience (roof and floor truss design, EWP, wall panels)
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum framework
  • Ability to work with the Product Owner to refine requirements and develop test plans
  • Ability to work with developers to develop, setup and manage automated testing
  • Ability to clearly document and communicate test cases, defects, and other relevant information
  • Desire to learn and use new technologies
  • Great team attitude, highly motivated to improve and be successful
  • Work effectively as an individual and on a team
  • Fluency with Windows 10, Windows 11 & Windows Server Operating Systems
  • Detail-Oriented: Ability to thoroughly review a product, service or procedure.
  • Communication: Ability to write in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience. Ability to effectively document test plans, test cases, and steps to reproduce defects.
  • Teamwork: Ability to build and sustain cooperative working relationships. Ability to work closely with developers to setup and manage automated testing.
  • Forward-Thinking: Desire to improve skills, learn new technologies, and recommend process or software improvements to the team.
  • Organization: The ability to arrange resources to get things done; can orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal; uses resources effectively and efficiently; arranges information and files in a useful manner.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to identify the information needed to solve problems effectively.
  • Composure: Ability to stay calm and in control in tense or frustrating situations.
  • Perseverance: Ability to do something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.
  • Pluses include any experience with:
    • Truss, EWP, or Wall Panel design software
    • Test Case Management software such as Testrail or Tricentis TTM
    • Selenium or TestComplete Automated Testing Platform
    • SQL Server Management Studio
    • VMWare Virtualization
    • Jira Issue Tracking
    • Confluence Project Collaboration

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment where standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printer/scanner, etc. are frequently used.

Travel Required

This job requires 5% domestic travel.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, exempt position is located in Boulder, Colorado or remote with availability during core hours of 9am to 4pm MT.

RELOCATION

Relocation is not available for this position.

PAY

$71,500 - $92,900 / year

Posted pay range is based upon national average and may vary depending on geographical work location.
