This pivotal role involves managing and enhancing our shared cloud infrastructure, optimizing CI/CD pipelines, data infrastructure pipelines, Observability stack, and ensuring system reliability, and implementing necessary tooling to ensure high service quality.

We are seeking a talented Senior Data Engineer to play a key role in developing Bedrock, a comprehensive Internal Developer Platform (IDP) that includes CI/CD pipelines, managed infrastructure, observability, data engineering pipelines, and a developer portal.

The primary focus of this role will be on ensuring the stability and scalability of the Bedrock Internal Developer Platform that hosts the cloud applications that power our customer’s connected vehicle experiences. The secondary focus of this role will be to facilitate the enablement of our product teams developing and supporting these cloud applications.


You'll have…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Software or other related or foreign equivalency degree or combination of education and experience
  • 5+ Years experience in software engineering, preferably in Java, Golang or Kotlin
  • 3+ Years experience with cloud-based infrastructure, preferably GCP
  • 3+ Years experience with Kubernetes
  • 4+ Years of experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, New Relic, ELK, Splunk, Prometheus, DataDog or similar.
  • 3+ Years of experience with building complex data pipelines preferably in Apache Flink/Spark, Kafka or Pulsar
  • 3+ Years of experience with Databases such as Postgres, Cassandra, Yugabyte, MongoDB

What you'll do…

  • Manage and optimize Bedrock cloud infrastructure, data infrastructure pipelines and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Monitor system health, ensure system reliability, and minimize system downtime.
  • Build the tooling to enable developers to emit events and metrics and interact with and reason about the telemetry in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Build, deploy, and scale our Observability infrastructure based on OpenTelemetry.
  • Define best practices around making our systems and services measurable and work with various teams to get those best practices applied
  • Collect, aggregate, and visualize the collected metrics to provide actionable insight.
