System One is seeking a Pipe Stress Engineer for a long-term contract opportunity with our client based out of Naperville, IL. This role supports a remote work model.
Nuclear industry experience is required.
In this role you will be performing stress analyses, preparing piping and engineering specifications and ensuring code compliance. You will be working with a team of engineers across disciplines and locations on client projects involving modifications to existing power generation facilities and plant systems for today's leading energy providers.
Design and analysis of changes to existing power plants as well as new plant systems.
Perform calculations, develop isometrics, and provide design recommendations, specifications, and design change packages
Lead design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design team
Provide technical support for field execution, including outage/turnaround projects
Assist in constructability planning, proposal, and estimate development
Mentor junior engineers.
Qualifications/Requirements:
BS in Mechanical or Civil Engineering from ABET accredited university required.
Minimum of 3 years piping/mechanical design experience with focus on pipe stress analysis projects in nuclear facilities.
Strong organizational skills. Effective written and verbal communication with clients, colleagues, and colleagues within other disciplines, project managers, and management.
Knowledge of PIPESTRESS, AutoPIPE, SuperPipe, AutoCAD, Laser Scanning and GTStrudl preferred.
Experience with IP-ENG-0001, Class 1 piping, ASME Sections III/VIII.
Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office, and CAD Software.
