We will demonstrate leadership, promote individual accountability, and participate actively in the advancement of our health and safety practices.OC San is currently looking to fill the role of an Engineer (Electrical).Under general direction, this Engineer (Electrical) performs a wide variety of complex engineering duties involving the construction and/or rehabilitation of wastewater treatment facilities and collection systems Pump Stations. Serves as the Resident Engineer for OC San on major Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) and smaller projects. Provides technical information to other project team members, researches problems and issues in a timely and professional manner, and performs related work as required. This Engineer will be responsible for answering and processing Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Change (RFC); evaluating and processing contractors' Progress Payments monthly; coordinating construction submittal and/or shop drawing review comments; leading progress and special meetings with contractors and others, producing accurate and timely meeting minutes; creating Requests for Proposal (RFP), negotiating changes, and issuing Field Change Orders (FCO); evaluating baseline schedules, monthly schedule updates, and Time Impact Analyses (TIAs); and formulating and evaluating designed solutions to issues encountered during construction.This individual provides technical leadership and expertise in design and construction to the project team during the design, construction, commissioning, and closeout phases of a project; evaluates and interprets complex engineering drawings and specifications; performs a variety of duties involving the administration of construction contracts (including coordinating work with inspection staff, other Departments, consultants, other agencies, and the public); prepares complex engineering plan clarifications and changes during construction f facilities; verifies that contract work meets Contract Document and regulatory requirements; provides construction engineering support to successfully complete projects within approved budgets and schedules; ensures established OC San standards, policies and procedures, and best practices are consistently applied; and prepares a variety of administrative, technical, and budget reports, memos, letters, and other related correspondence.The successful candidate will possess:Bachelors degree from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education, with major coursework in civil, mechanical, chemical, electrical, or environmental engineering, or a related field, dependent upon area of assignment.Four (4) years of increasingly responsible professional engineering work experience.Valid professional engineering (P.E.) registration license from the State of California.Valid California Class C Driver's License.Desirables:Electrical12Kv switchgearUninterruptable power suppliesMotor control centersUsage of cable traysVariable frequency drivesAutomatic transfer switchesBackup generatorsCommunications, Instrumentation and Controls:Human machine interfacesProgrammable logic controllersRemote input and output powerSCADAFiber optic networksRemote input and output panelsDemonstrated ability to work closely with contractors and OC San/public agency staff to administer construction projects valuing several million dollars on pipeline, water treatment facilities, and/or similar heavy construction (not residential or commercial) experience.Resident Engineer experience in construction and commissioning of major facilities and pipeline installations.Professional membership in CMAA (Construction Management Association of America); ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers)CMMA's Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification.Negotiating skills to resolve pending contract changes and issues on construction projectsExperience with construction management software and an understanding and knowledge of P6 CPM (Critical Path Method) scheduling software.Proficient Microsoft software (Excel and Word) experience to produce reports and document projects.Vacancies: 1 (an eligible list may be established for future vacancies)Apply online at: * APPLICATION FILING DEADLINE: Monday, October 28, 2024; 5:00 P.M. * (or until a sufficient number of qualified applications have been received)Hiring Salary Range: $136,385.60- $150,342.40/Year (starting salary will be within this range based upon qualifications)Physical DemandsMobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer; to operate a motor vehicle and visit various OC San sites, projects, and/or meetings; primarily a sedentary office classification although standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required; occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull drawers open and clo
