Development Engineer

The Development Engineer will support all aspects of Certor product development including concept creation, design, testing, validation, prototyping, and quality control. This role will collaborate with a small team of engineers to bring high-performance sporting good products from the drawing board to commercialization. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience, looking to expand their knowledge of the full product development process, including concept, prototyping, design, test, validation, and commercialization.

Responsibilities Include

1. Product ideation and concept evaluation
2. CAD of product concepts
3. Hands-on product prototyping including the use of 3DP technologies
4. Hands-on lab testing of Certor products, components, and concepts
5. Create product specification and drawings
6. Test data analysis and interpretation
7. Support creation of QC methods and documentation
8. Direct coordination with component suppliers – many overseas

Requirements

1. BS in Engineering or Industrial Design
2. 4 years product development experience
3. CAD experience
4. Strong communication and collaboration abilities
5. Self-motivated and high-energy

Desirable Skills & Experience

1. Solidworks competency
2. Hands-on experience with physical testing
3. Sporting goods product development
4. Familiarity with injection molding
5. Familiarity with softgoods development
6. Solid understanding of material sciences and failure mechanics

Summary

1. Reports directly to the Director of Product Development
2. Works in a small on-site team environment
3. Splits time between office and test lab (both in same building)
