The Opportunity

By pairing engineers with leaders in our education and science teams, we can bring technology to the table in new ways to help drive solutions. Our technology team is already helping schools bring personalized learning tools to teachers and supporting scientists worldwide.

The Infrastructure organization works on building shared platforms for all of CZI. Members of the Infrastructure Engineering team have an impact on CZI's initiatives by enabling technology solutions used by other engineering teams.

What You'll Do

• Analyze and improve the efficiency, stability, and security of CZI engineering.
• Work with the existing infrastructure security team and other security stakeholders within the organization.
• Design and build tools and libraries for use across 5+ engineering teams.
• Educate teams across CZI on best practices.
• Drive impact across the company by collaborating with the Product Security (ProdSec) team.

What You'll Bring

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of relevant coding experience.
• Proficiency in AWS, GCP, and Microsoft Azure.
• Experience securing cloud-based systems.
• Security domain expertise in Threat modeling, Security Architecture, Security Monitoring, Detection Engineering, and Incident Response.
• Experience with Kubernetes, AWS Lambda, and other FaaS or containerized workloads.
• Proficiency with languages such as Java, Python, Go, and Rust.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, Kubernetes, Container security, and continuous deployment systems.
• AI/MLOps is a strong plus.

Compensation

The Redwood City, CA base pay range for this role is $214,000- $321,000. Actual placement in range is based on job-related skills and experience.
