Job Responsibilities
To assist the General Manager in the functioning of the hotel. Performs repairs and preventative maintenance work to ensure the hotel maintenance quality standards are achieved and maintained. Provides excellent guest service in an efficient, courteous professional manner; following LBA standards of friendly hospitality while adhering to guidelines and procedures.
Prerequisites
- Working knowledge of: preventative maintenance, electricity, AC, and plumbing.
- Five to ten years as a maintenance engineer or technician or similar position.
- HVAC and Pool Certification helpful.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
The essential function of the Lead Maintenance Technician is to ensure all mechanical areas of the hotel are operating correctly while working within the preventative and budgetary guidelines set forth by LBA.
Specific Responsibilities
- Walking property grounds regularly to oversee the functioning of the facilities.
- Diagnose malfunctions and defects in mechanical and similar equipment and determine corrective measures and delegate repairs when applicable.
- Maintain facility using consistent preventative maintenance guidelines: check and ensure repairs are made to plumbing systems, electrical systems, building interior, and exterior.
- Respond to work orders in a timely manner.
- Train all maintenance staff and other designated associates in responsibilities and safety.
- Ensure maintenance department and applicable staff have sufficient tools to do their jobs daily.
- All other duties as assigned and within the realm of physical capabilities.
Working Conditions/Special Requirements
- Standing, bending, stretching, walking for long periods of time.
- Maintain a friendly professional image.
- Should be able to develop maintenance staff in the advancement of their careers.
- At times will have to work shifts and weekends and be called in.
Positions for Possible Advancement
The next step for this position is in a training capacity for other Maintenance Technicians or a Regional Maintenance Support person. The ability to teach skills and competencies will enhance leadership skills in preparation for further promotion.
