Position Summary:
To analyze, cost, estimate, measure, process and improve the methods by which labor, material, supplies and capital are utilized to produce high quality Couplings that meet customer requirements at optimal cost.
Major Responsibilities:
Process "Engineered To Order" jobs. This entails defining all items, machining operations, outside services, quality checks and materials required to produce products that comply with all of the specifications defined on the Engineering drawings and Customer orders. Establish costs for "Engineered to Order" jobs, components and proposals, including material, labor and outside services, etc.
Items, BOM and Routings - Create part numbers, BOM's and Routings in Oracle ERP as necessary to support business requirements.
Processes & Procedures - Work with Plant Operations to research, establish & improve current and future manufacturing processes and methods to assure efficient operations and utilization of resources. Create and maintain standard work procedures as necessary.
Customer Inquiry - Assist with costing of new products where necessary for quotation to customer.
New Product Development - Represent Industrial Engineering on new product launches and design for manufacturability reviews.
Kaizens and Project Support - Team member (or potential leader) for continuous improvement projects and other initiatives.
Develop, Review & Maintain Engineered Standards and document machine/data settings used in product routings. Work with Plant Operations and Finance to ensure accuracy of BOM's, Routings and product costs.
Support and comply with applicable ISO 9001, safety and other standard requirements.
All special projects as assigned.
Required Education / Experience / Skills:
This position is subject to policies and procedures set forth by the State Department and applicants who do not meet such requirements will not be eligible for the position.
Technical Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience (minimum 3 years).
Have a thorough understanding of the manufacturing processes employed in their production.
Have comprehensive knowledge of coupling products preferred.
Be knowledgeable in lean manufacturing concepts, continuous improvement, workflow principles, and production scheduling.
Experience working with a manufacturing ERP system, PC skills and the ability to read and interpret drawings are required.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & Power Point.
Above average verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to get along well with others.
Ability to plan and execute projects on schedule.
Knowledge of manufacturing practices.
Can effectively function in a matrix and team environment.
