Software Engineering Manager

Description

We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager who will serve in a dual role as a technical lead and manager. We are a small, tight-knit team delivering software solutions to multiple product lines across our fueling, grid solutions and electric vehicle charging businesses.

The ideal candidate has a strong commitment to software quality, is passionate about writing code in C++ and has some supervisory experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides technical and architectural leadership to the software development team
• Tracks and provides status updates on projects
• Leads product development initiatives
• Ensures all software engineering initiatives, projects and processes conform to the organization’s established policies and objectives
• Challenges and motivates design team to achieve project goals and execute product development process on schedule
• Communicates with customers to define requirements

Skills And Experience

• 5 years of experience in the field with some management experience (required)
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent (required)
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience using defect tracking software and source control
• Project management and timeline planning/tracking experience
• Strong understanding of SDLC
• Experience of software development using Agile/Scrum processes/principles.
• Strong experience with C++ in a Linux/Unix environment
• Experience with SQL and XML
• Embedded development experience on ARM processors
• Expert level understanding of object-oriented design and development
