Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. You will bring that vision to life by leading a team responsible for software required for satellite ground operations equipment and manage our test satellites infrastructure.

In this role, you will manage a team of software engineers responsible for Satellite ground equipment applications and system devs responsible for ground venues such as test satellites and test equipment. Our mission is to ensure the software required for satellites and ground equipment is built, deployed and tracked continuously for reliability and consistency. Our focuses are on reliability, accessibility, and autonomy.

Key Job Responsibilities

1. Define and drive the multi-year vision for the team.
2. Oversee resource allocation to ensure appropriate business and staff development goals are met.
3. Participate in strategic planning to achieve technical and business goals.
4. Work closely with engineers to architect and deliver the best technical designs and approaches.
5. Work closely with cross-functional partners and develop prioritized roadmap.
6. Hire and support top talent to meet goals of the team.

Export Control Requirement

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience.
• 5+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of software development experience.
• 3+ years of experience building software with hardware interface.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
