Java Developer I - Kansas City, MO - Fulltime/Permanent

This position provides software development services by producing superior quality software using well-defined approaches to software problem-solving and software development best practices.

This position works with engineering peers, Technical Leads, Architects, and other Stakeholders translating product vision into overall satisfying and innovative solutions.

Responsibilities:

Required Experience:

1. Expert in Linux and related technologies.
2. Experience with Maven and Git is desirable.
3. 3+ years of experience in Software Engineering.
4. Excellent programming skills in Java. Background in Spring MVC / Spring Boot and GWT is preferred.
5. Agile experience with Scrum and/or Kanban, BDD, and TDD.
6. Experience writing Unit, Functional, and Protocol level tests.
7. Experience writing Documentation including technical specifications, test plans, whitepapers, and internal documentation.
8. Equally comfortable working with Windows, Mac, or Linux environments.
9. A demonstrable and sincere passion for solving complex problems and business challenges.
10. Experience with SQL and popular RDBMS databases such as MSSQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
11. Experience in creating test scripts in languages such as Python.
12. Experience with defect tracking systems such as Serena and JIRA.
13. Proactive mindset, anticipating problems and challenges before they appear.
14. An ability to explain complex technical concepts to the non-technical and to provide training in the tools administered.
15. A demonstrable ability to work quickly while maintaining quality.
16. A demonstrable ability to show continuous improvement in abilities, quantity of output, and quality of deliverables.

Education Required:

BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
