The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting production and quality by identifying manufacturing operations that yield the greatest risk of nonconformance and eliminating or significantly mitigating those risks through the development of tools, fixtures, aids, and work instructions to ensure first pass quality yield is achieved to the greatest extent. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is also responsible for reviewing internally and externally developed designs and providing input into the design and/or manufacturing methods to ensure cost effective producibility throughout the entire product life cycle.
Lastly, the Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for tracking to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for on time delivery of critical and high priority tasks, as well as developing other manufacturing engineering team members by disseminating knowledge and best practices to subordinates with lesser years of experience.
Assignment of Functions and Responsibilities:
* Identifying high risk production operations and developing manufacturing fixtures and aids
* Developing subordinates and standard operating procedures to regulate processes
* Participating in PFMEA, SDRL, CCB, Design Review, RCCA, and initial release efforts
* Manage and prioritize workload of subordinates to maintain on time delivery to customers
* Assisting with estimating efforts for B&P efforts (program launch and product sustainment)
* Other efforts required by the organization
Minimum Requirements for Education, Skillset, Qualifications, and Experience:
* Must be a US Citizen
* BSME or related engineering field
* Greater than seven (7) years of experience in manufacturing engineering
* Strong attention to detail and teamwork mentality
* Strong Leadership & Communication Skills (written and verbal)
* Strong problem solving and organizational skills
* Ability to work without supervision
* Greater than 5 years of experience developing weld fixtures to ensure compliance with customer prints.
* Expert at prioritizing, managing, and forecasting workload of subordinates
* Expert at interpreting prints in accordance with ASME Y14.100 and Y14.5
* Expert understanding of Bills of Materials and Manufacturing Methods (Welding, Press Brake, Machining, etc.)
* Machine programming experience using SolidCam
* Highly proficient at SolidWorks to develop fixtures, check gauges, and other manufacturing aids
Preferred Skills and Experience:
* Composite tooling development experience
* Expert at SolidWorks (CSWP)
* Greater than 15 years of experience in manufacturing engineering
* Greater than five (5) years of experience in the use of Epicor
* Experience in working with military specifications and requirements
