Working under the supervision of a project manager, engineering manager, supervisor, or lead, the Process Engineer I will work with the Engineering team to ensure successful integration of product requirements between design/stress, manufacturing, quality/test and product maintenance organizations. The Process Engineer I will work both independently as well as part of a team to ensure the systematic conversion of customer requirements into product solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints throughout the value stream.ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIESThe Process Engineer I will receive instructions on task specifications and process design constraints and will be expected to utilize a limited level of experience and judgment to plan and accomplish tasks in the following areas:Work closely with Engineering team to perform technical product requirements identification and analysisAssist in problem-solving, troubleshooting and/or development of various processes or technologiesAssist in trade studies during product development and producibility evaluationsAssist team in the coordination of product development, configuration management and operations to ensure requirements are properly decomposed, integrated into product definition and capable of flowing seamlessly through the value streamUnder guidance from team leader, serve as program interface with customer and certification authorities regarding product test requirementsAssist in Certification Test Plan DevelopmentAssist engineering team responsible for product test fixture concepts, design, and fabricationAssist with product Certification Test executionReview engineering dataset releases in accordance with pre-established guidelines to ensure design intent is conveyed using model-based definition and PDM systemsPerforms other duties as required.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCESRequires a BSME, BSCE, BSAE, or a Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field and a minimum of 0-4 years of experience in the Aerospace Industry or in a related field.Requires working knowledge of:CATIA V5, PDM systems and MS Office products.Standard tooling and flexible tooling conceptsRequires familiarity with basic and advanced quality system requirementsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTESAbility to sit or stand for extended periods of timeNoise levels ranging from quiet to extremely loudRequired to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the manufacturing floor including, but not limited to, eye, ear, and foot protectionMay occasionally lift and /or move up to 10-50 poundWHY CHOOSE SONACA NORTH AMERICA?We take care of our people.401(k) retirement savings plan with a percentage company-match contributionCompetitive wagesPaid holidaysPaid time offMedical, dental, vision, life, and accidental insuranceShort-term disabilityLong-term disabilityEmployee assistance plan — for access to counseling, consulting and other community resourcesWellness programTuition assistanceSubject to eligibility, terms, and conditionsThis job description is only a summary of the typical functions of the job, not an exhaustive or comprehensive list of all possible job responsibilities, tasks, and duties.
