Our client is an exciting, full-service Architectural and Engineering consulting firm, with a strong foothold and name in each of their niche practice areas and current working locations, throughout Florida and the East Coast. Over several decades, they have made a conscious effort to strengthen their client network and diversify their offerings, in line with market trends, by leveraging their reputation for credibility and the quality of their work, as well as a team of 150 licensed technical professionals.
They are a very well-structured organisation and present their staff with an excellent platform for their development into the long term, through providing access to a wealth of knowledge, support resources, and a sustainable backlog of high-end, complex projects; also lending their people visibility on their future for career progression, and place an emphasis on maintaining a dynamic and collaborative culture, and the core values that are shared between their staff, at every level.
They are actively seeking a Principal Forensic Engineer or Architect to assume the leadership of their Forensic Investigation and Expert Witness services in the state, from either of their West Palm Beach or Miami offices, as their current Principal has been tasked with scaling the business into new, target markets and will be looking to step away from this responsibility. This role will entail being branded as their Florida go-to in building damage investigation and expert witness testimonials, the mentorship and training of an existing staff of more junior engineers, and spearheading the further growth of this division through new business development.
They are currently focused on the investigation of failed/damaged structural and envelope systems, regarding claims for defective construction and large-scale/complex property losses, largely for high-rise commercial and multi-family residential buildings, that have been pursued into litigation; where they have seen a consistent and steadily increasing demand for their work and opinion.
Key Credentials:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, or Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer or Registered Architect in Florida.
- Further relevant credentials and licenses seen as desirable.
- 5+ years of Forensic-specific technical experience.
- Experience with litigation support and deposition required, with testifying as an expert witness strongly preferred.
- Demonstrable success with management and client development responsibilities.
- A transferable book of business is not necessary, but always a plus.
