Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a motivated professional to join our team in Oahu, Hawaii as a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to support a major multi-year US Special Operations Command Pacific program. Duties and responsibilities include:
- Conduct system scans to identify and assess vulnerabilities and provide recommendations for remediation.
- Collaborate with system developers and administrators to ensure cybersecurity policies and procedures are implemented during all phases of the system lifecycle.
- Develop and implement Security CONOPS outlining how security controls will be met and maintained.
- Prepare and submit accreditation packages and artifacts in eMASS and/or Xacta to obtain Authority to Operate (ATO), Authority to Connect (ATC), and Certificates to Field (CTF) for mission systems.
- Prepare RMF documentation such as System Security Plans, Risk Assessment Reports, Security Assessment Plans for RMF controls and track POA&Ms.
- Support test and evaluation activities for new technologies, prepare detailed reports, and make specific recommendations based on findings.
- Analyze policies and procedures against Federal laws and regulations and provide recommendations for closing gaps.
- Recommend system enhancements to improve security deficiencies.
- Develop, test, and integrate computer and network security tools.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, cybersecurity or related field and 8 years applicable experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a higher degree.
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience in performing Risk Management Framework activities.
- Ability to conduct vulnerability assessments and continuous monitoring of networks.
- Demonstrated experience with performing STIG assessments to include using SCAP benchmarks.
- Demonstrated experience performing vulnerability assessments with ACAS.
- Demonstrated experience using eMASS and/or Xacta.
- Experience in developing Plans of Actions and Milestones (POA&M) entries.
- Experience in communicating risk reduction recommendations to stakeholders.
- IAT Level II certification.
- Active Secret clearance, higher clearance strongly desired.
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM or CASP.
- Solid understanding of data transport, encryption, networking, IT systems, and cybersecurity fundamentals.
- Familiarity with US SOCOM cybersecurity policies, directives, and frameworks (ICD 503, DoDI 8500.01).

Target Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
