Job Description

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (LMMFC) Chelmsford, MA is seeking a motivated and driven Quality Engineer to support our manufacturing operations.

As a recognized designer, developer, and manufacturer of precision engagement aerospace and defense systems for the U.S. and allied militaries, LMMFC offers the vital capabilities needed to provide our war fighting and civilian customers the products and services they need in their defining moments.

Quality Engineers at LMMFC act as an integrated member of the design and production teams developing and reviewing quality standards, methods, work instructions, and procedures for the inspection of manufactured and procured products. To ensure our customer receives the highest level of Quality, our Quality Engineers develop, review/approve documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes to ensure requirements are fulfilled.

Job Description duties include:

1. Reviews documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes to ensure quality products are delivered to the customer.
2. Ability to analyze and resolve process issues varying from basic to very complex.
3. Attends and leads program corrective action meetings, identifies trends, assists in problem resolution, and ensures responsible parties meet commitments.
4. Participates as an active member of Material Review Boards and Failure Review Boards which includes the disposition of non-conforming hardware, identifying hardware containment requirements, identifying appropriate root cause, and corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence.
5. Performs assessments and audits on processes and procedures to ensure compliance with specifications, engineering drawings, procedures, and ISO 9001 & AS9100 standards.
6. Interfaces with customers, suppliers, and program personnel on quality related issues.
7. Utilizes lean initiatives to reduce waste and maintain continuous improvement.
8. Makes the final decision on acceptability of product.

Desired Skills:

Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment.

ASQ CQE.

Discrete and/or Micro-electronics experience.

Understanding of root cause analysis and corrective action development.

Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma application.

J-STD-001/IPC-A-610 familiarization.

Work Schedule Information:

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Work Schedule: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
