Interaction & User Experience Designer

Bluehawk Consulting is seeking a strong Technical/Interaction & UX Designer with the ability to help develop world-class UI/UX concepts into a final product.
Project Overview
This hands-on role requires a strong command of User Experience & Interaction Design, exceptional visual design skills as well as solid knowledge of best practices in designing web, app, cross platform, and other enterprise design efforts. You must have a clear understanding of every facet of the design process that facilitates a superior shipped experience: interaction design, visual, brand integration, content creation, and strong planning & project management skills.
Candidates must have strong visual sensibilities, deep interactive design knowledge, coupled with expertise in collaborating with interactive developers to launch engagement campaigns and cross platform applications. Candidates must have proven experience in creating designs which appeal internationally to a gaming and entertainment-seeking audience. Any experience regarding sustainability is also a huge plus.
Responsibilities
- Designing innovative world-class interactive experiences
- Drive highest quality design end-to-end, from pre-production and planning phases through to launch for all AAA design projects
- UX Design, Interaction Design, UI Design, Visual design, development for multiple platforms and environments, including responsive design
- Strong command of responsive mobile, tablet, desktop, web & app design in addition to 10-foot / lean-back experience design
- Taking art direction from designer leadership
- Layout, Composition, UI, UX, Information Architecture: Establish and direct composition, flow and visual/sensory framework of all AAA experiences
- Excellent collaborative skills working closely with other Design Team members, Project Managers, Stakeholders, and Leadership
Required Skills & Experience
- Online Design portfolio of work samples, indicating details on your specific role and contributions for each project submitted in the portfolio
- At least 1-2 years of experience with design or interactive media design in a formally managed creative atmosphere (interactive agency, design centric product team etc.)
- Proven history of delivering world-class digital media
- Exceptional design talents with stylistic breadth
- Proven deep experience in digital interactive entertainment across both design and production
- Experience of partnering with technical and non-technical designers
- Advanced design skills, efficient prototyping, production, and optimization techniques
- Full command of leading design software (Adobe Creative Cloud)
- Experience with Sketch (building and/or working with pattern libraries)
- Expertise in User Experience, Informational Architecture, User Flow design, Wireframing, Redlining, Spec Documentation, and general early prototyping / whiteboarding
- Demonstrated ability to both give and take art direction, feedback, and critiques effectively
- Ability to deliver a wide range of interactive assets, from interactive models, prototypes, concepts to high quality production assets
- Able to produce results independently as well as collaboratively
- Experience partnering with interactive developers and other graphic designers is essential
- Knowledge and experience with front-end web development best practices, production process and responsive development requirements
- UX research, establishing user personas & user stories, documenting, and disseminating findings
- Expertise creating visual design documents including visual style guidelines
- Strong familiarity with creating, updating, and using pattern libraries & UI frameworks
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required
- Experience with training and evangelizing of processes, skills, documentation & best practices
- An understanding of animation and motion work
- Ability to show sketches, clear thought process & strategic decision making along the development of a project
- Proven capability for strong composition and design narrative throughout portfolio of work
- Strong communication skills including but not limited to communicate conceptual campaign work, beyond only good graphic design
- Designer's aesthetic can hold up confidently to Xbox's AAA quality design aesthetic & modern design language
- Confidence in presenting and communicating design work and its message to individuals and to larger groups of reviewers
- Excellent internal partner relationship skills, collaborative attitude
- Passionate, positive outlook, with ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment
- Ability to embrace and respond to constructive feedback
Preferred Experience:
- Genuine interest in & passion for Xbox & entertainment media - particularly games, movies, TV & music
- Passion and knowledge in sustainability
- Enterprise product development
- Experience working on larger projects, campaigns, or products from beginning to end with an ability to communicate their roll, team's roll & the meaning of each check point are a plus
- Clean design with strong visual, typographic and UI elements are preferred
- Vector illustration skills are a plus
- Interactive Television, Video on Demand Application Design
- HTML5 / CSS3 / jQuery / JavaScript / React JS
Education
Required Education
- Bachelors or higher degree
- Equivalent work experience in User Experience Design, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, or other related fields in lieu of degree

Salary Range for this position: $89,000 - $99,000
