Client is seeking a E&C Engineer to oversee the management and execution of major construction contracts for the Wheaton Repowering project. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that all contractual obligations are met and that the project adheres to design specifications and timelines. The ideal candidate will have a blend of construction management and project management experience, along with strong organizational and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Contract Management: Oversee multiple construction contracts, ensuring compliance with contract terms, specifications, and project requirements.
- Technical Coordination: Process and facilitate responses to contractor requests for information (RFIs) by collaborating with the engineering team.
- Project Oversight: Monitor construction activities and progress on-site in Wheaton, WI, ensuring alignment with project schedules and quality standards.
- Site Visits: Conduct regular site visits (1-3 days per week) to oversee construction activities, address contractor inquiries, and coordinate project efforts.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and the project controls team to ensure successful project execution.
- Documentation Control: Maintain accurate documentation of contract-related activities, including RFIs, change orders, and meeting minutes.
Project Scope
The Wheaton Repowering project involves the construction of a new power plant, requiring effective oversight of contracts, technical collaboration, and proactive project management. The role will also involve supporting a sister project at the Blue Lake facility in Shakopee, MN.

Qualifications
- Experience: 8-10 years of experience in project management and construction management, preferably in power generation or similar industries.
- Education: A degree in engineering (ABET accredited preferred) or related field is desirable, but equivalent experience will be considered.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and documentation control skills.
- Understanding of multi-disciplinary engineering principles.
- Proficiency in project scheduling and management tools (Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, PDF software).
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with contractors, engineers, and project teams.
- Experience with construction oversight and contract management principles.
