This position is located in Rural Hall, NCA Snapshot of Your DayOverview: The primary purpose of this position is to set up, operate, and maintain a variety of manual and CNC equipment. The Machinist will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various machines to produce high-quality parts according to specifications. Unless otherwise stated, each employee is responsible for their own work and safety for themselves and their co-workers.Receive assignments, oral and/or written, from supervision:Sample of job requirements:Read instructional material necessary to perform operationsCreate straightforward NC programs at the controllerPerform setup of work piece; install tooling, fixtures, download CNC programs, and make required settings and adjustmentsMake minor repairs to tooling, fixtures, and equipment as required or return to proper area for replacement or repair.Run a variety of equipment to create a complete part, as directed by part routerWork with Engineering, as neededProvide thorough carryovers to minimize confusion and/or loss of timeNotify supervision/maintenance of irregularities or equipment malfunctionsPerform routine maintenance on equipmentKeep work area clean, orderly, and safeUnderstanding and working to within schedule requirementsWhat You Bring (requirements)Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and ExperienceEquivalent to a high school education is acceptable, technical certification or vocational training in machining preferred.Requires the ability to read, write, complete simple forms, and understand simple written instructions.Requires the ability to perform arithmetic skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, including decimals and fractions.Could require simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules, or diagrams.Qualified Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States.
