AECOM is seeking a Water Resources Project Engineer to join our growing Water Resources group in California or Colorado. As a Water Resources Project Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with design staff and team members on a wide range of water resources projects including but not limited to any of the following: floodplain modeling and mapping studies; municipal water resources projects; stream restoration design; dam removal; or analysis and design of stormwater or highway drainage systems. Your ability to complete hydraulic and hydrologic modeling using various software is crucial to success in this position.

Responsibilities:

  1. Preparing and reviewing working drawings, plans, cost estimates, studies, reports, and other work products.
  2. Analysis and design of stormwater drainage systems, hydraulic structures, and highway drainage systems.
  3. Performing independent tasks and reviewing technical work of others.
  4. Mentoring and training junior level staff.
  5. Writing technical reports and memoranda.
  6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. BA/BS and 2+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. 4+ years of relevant water resource related experience.
  2. Passed Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
  3. Professional Engineer's License.
  4. Experience and familiarity with the following programs: HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS 1D/2D, SRH-2D, xpSWMM, HydroCAD, ArcGIS, CADD.
  5. Strong analytical and computation skills.
  6. Knowledge of civil engineering design principles.

Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation (Colorado locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $100,000+.
