Job Summary

Establish the overall objectives and initiatives of the Engineering Department. Provides engineering expertise and /or support to other departments where needed. Ensures that all engineering projects and processes are in conformance with the organizations established policies and objectives.

Responsible for developing and implementing, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. In addition, recommends and implements improvements to production processes methods and controls.

Develop ideas for product enhancements, directs design activities, from concept design through to feasibility design and detailed final design. Interpret requirements and preliminary system design of a configurable product or equipment and produce a design output package that can be used on the manufacturing floor to build the product, coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products.

Provide first-line technical support to customers, addressing their issues and queries with accuracy and efficiency. Collaborate with the technical team to resolve complex issues and improve product functionality.

Responsible for basic research and development activities, including testing equipment, adsorbent testing and development.

Essential Functions And Responsabilities

  • Participate in the development, validation, and implementation of new product designs or improvement to existing design process.
  • Gains a comprehension of customer design requirements through the review and analysis of technical specifications, interpreting blueprints, drawings, and customer interface. With this knowledge, prepares engineering analyses, on components, assemblies, and engineering change orders to develops designed solutions and equipment selections to meet customer needs.
  • Release documentation such as component specifications, system drawings (General Arrangements), Bills of Materials, Process, and Instrumentation Diagrams, and Operating and Maintenance Manuals.
  • Communicate interdepartmentally to resolve issues with focus on root cause analysis and implementing process corrections, product improvements or testing process with special respect to controls sequences and programming.
  • Develop and continuously evaluate processes to measure and improve productivity (process effectiveness, team efficiency), by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Determines improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios of equipment, suppliers, or service applications in customer environment; engineering or proposing changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services.


COMPETENCES & AUTORITHIES

  • Execute project plans to meet product specifications, cost budgets, timelines, identification, and handling of project related risks, and managing design changes.
  • Research components, equipment, systems, and processes to improve, or generate new products, including cost reduction/containment strategies, Quality Control, Safety Assurance, and Sales and Marketing technical advisement.
  • Research and interface with suppliers on new or improved product component selections.
  • Provide technical support for new and existing equipment, ensure mechanical design documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Creates item masters and bills of material required by manufacturing, purchasing, and production control for job processing.
  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment. (Support EHS / Maintenance Manager).
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities. (Support EHS / Maintenance Manager).
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.


JOB QUALIFICATION

  • Awareness of regulatory requirements and able to work with Nationally Registered Testing Labs (NRTLs; such as ETL, UL, TUV) when revisions are necessary.
  • Awareness of ISO 9000 and commitment to Quality Process

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Peachtree (aka Sage 90) for sales order
  • Knowledge of electro-mechanical components and able to integrate them into a system design.
  • Experience with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly.
  • CAD skills
