As a member of the Enterprise Applications and Data (EAD) team, you will work alongside other talented software developers, test professionals, consultants, and analysts to deliver high-value technical solutions for our business, focusing on API development and integrations. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong technical aptitude and experience as a senior level developer. Some of the things you will be doing:
- Provide technical guidance and direction to other Java Software Engineers and Test Engineers on the design, development, security, infrastructure, testing, and implementation functions of APIs/Applications within the Enterprise Applications and Data (EAD) technology stack.
- Develop Java components using web services, JMS, and other technologies for application and relational database integration.
- Contribute to the analysis and design of new applications and enhancements.
- Provide technical input to business analysts in the creation of user stories for EAD applications.
- Implement and maintain security standards, procedures, and guidelines.
- Coordinate technical solutions across development teams.
- Coach other developers in the USA and India, and lead design reviews.
- Work with testing specialists to devise automated tests and monitoring tools.
- Contribute to production support and debugging across the EAD suite of APIs, working with other software engineers.
What technical skills, experience, and qualifications do you need:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with Java, JEE, RESTful web services, SpringBoot, and OpenAPI specifications.
- Experience with writing and maintaining Gradle projects.
- Groovy experience is a plus, but not required.
- Experience w/ Containerization using Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift.
- CI/CD methodologies using Jenkins/Jenkins DSL, Github, especially crafting and maintaining a successful release process, involving multiple dependencies and applications.
- Design & Code Quality experience using Sonar, design, and code review processes.
- Experience with web services standards and technology including WSDL, SOAP, REST, XML, XML-Schema, XSL, WS standards/Security etc.
- Experience with OAuth as an API provider and/or consumer, a plus.
- Strong emphasis on quality best practices and industry-leading processes with the knowledge and experience of writing great unit tests using JUnit.
- Strong commitment to Agile concepts and execution.
- The ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A desire to work on a global Agile/Scrum software development team.
- Experience in the following:
- object oriented design, design patterns, and refactoring.
- writing integration tests for code with Postman and automating those tests with Newman.
