Senior Channel Applications Engineer

This is a position with grade 12 and reports to the Channel Manager.
Your role and responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will:
- Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments to ensure timely and accurate support for the application of ABB PLC/HMIs and LV drives in various industrial processes, systems, and applications.
- Design and recommend tailored solutions based on a deep knowledge of our portfolio and capabilities to meet customers' unique needs.
- Negotiate deviations, agree on win-win solutions, and identify new functional solutions to address current business issues.
- Advise on the delivery of high-quality solutions, continuously aim to meet targets even in challenging circumstances, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Manage PLC/HMI motor application problems, create detailed technical reports, and collaborate with OEM Application Engineers to support tailored solutions offered by ABB in the region.
Qualifications for the role
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred) and 8 years' experience in the application of Low Voltage drive required.
- Travel up to 50% required.
- Exceptional technical application and technical communication skills.
- Understanding of Serial and Ethernet communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, ProfiNet, etc).
- Programming experience in industrial PLCs (ABB, Rockwell, Siemens, Square D, or others) and basic understanding of Compressors, Pump & Fan, Extruder, Crane, Hoists & Winches, Centrifuge, General Machinery and other applications.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, vendors, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
