About the Role

Responsible to deliver actionable data insights needed to provide equitable access to health services for our members and improve the health of our communities. In this role you have a potential for influence and growth as we transform our data into actionable insights to continue to fuel the growth and expansion of our services. This role is expected to build strong partnerships with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver high-quality BI solutions that drive business decisions and actions.

To be successful in this role, you:

  • Have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in developing dashboards, analytics, reports, and extracts in a business intelligence environment.
  • Have experience in data analytics and/or programming tools such as Snowsight, Tableau, Power BI, Jupyter, and languages (Python, JAVA, SQL).
  • Have experience in health care industry, managed care health plan preferred.

Essential functions and Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work with business stakeholders and BSA to understand and consult on analytical solutions and level of effort estimates.
  • Work cross-functionally with Data warehousing teams to understand existing datasets and identify data sources needed to support the business and ensure reporting is accurate and consistent across teams.
  • Develop BI solutions such as pipelines, dashboards, and self-service tools to analyze and present data using tools such as Snowsight, Tableau, PowerBI, Jupyter notebooks, and languages such as Python.
  • Apply standard operating procedures for analysis, design, prototyping, and development using agile methodologies.
  • Perform integration testing of BI solutions to identify errors in programming logic and verify compliance with user specifications.
  • Track development life cycle and document solutions using project and document management tools such as Atlassian Jira and Confluence.
  • Source control BI solutions using Git and remote systems such as Atlassian Bitbucket.
  • Contribute to cross-team discussions and workshops on design and architecture.
  • Support system administration of BI tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, and programming environments such as Python.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to analyze, reconcile, evaluate/interpret, and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to lead and participate in code reviews.
  • Ability to develop BI solutions using Agile/SCRUM methodologies.
  • Knowledgeable in administering and monitoring BI tools.
  • Knowledgeable in SQL, Python, and modern analytical tools.
  • Perform all functions of the job with accuracy, attention to detail and within established timeframes.
  • Demonstrate professional courtesy to others and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Compensation and Benefits:

The position is FLSA Non-Exempt (Exempt) and is (not) eligible for overtime. Based on market data, this position grade is 69 (see full range below) and has a 10% annual incentive target based on company, department, and individual performance goals.

Sensory/Physical/Mental Requirements:

Sensory:

  • Speaking, hearing, near vision, far vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, touch, smell, and balance.

Physical:

  • Extended periods of sitting, computer use, talking and possibly standing.
  • Frequent torso/back static position; occasional stooping, bending, and twisting.
  • Some kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying (not over 25 pounds), twisting, and reaching.

Mental:

  • Frequent decision-making. Ability to gather and assess data, determine appropriate actions, apply protocols and knowledge to unique situations, problem-solve and provide consultation.

Office environment Employees who frequently work in front of computer monitors are at risk for environmental exposure to low-grade radiation.

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelors or better in Computer Science or related field.

Experience:

3-5 years of experience in knowledge of SQL, Jupyter Notebooks and languages such as Python.
