Responsibilities:
- Design and implementation of microservices
- Refactoring legacy and traditional monolithic applications into microservices and containerized architectures
- Works as part of a larger Agile software development team to rapidly provide operational capabilities to the field
- Elicit, derive, and document software and/or system requirements to meet internal or external customer specifications
- Define software/and or system architecture, design software modules, and produce associated documentation per corporate or customer standards
- Write and test software modules and integrate with other software and/or hardware components
- Remain up to date with the latest related trends and technologies
Must-haves:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field with typically 6 or more years of relevant experience
- Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
- Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
- 5+ years of software development experience , with at least one object oriented language such as but not limited to Java, Python, C#, C++ or Go
- Demonstrated implementation of microservices, container, and cloud-native application development
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes and/or Openshift and related container platform ecosystems
- Experience working with multiple cloud vendors
- Experience with managed Kubernetes services, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS)
- Demonstrated experience with developer tools such as GitHub and on-prem Azure DevOps
- Significant experience with Linux
- Strong understanding and experience of release engineering, CI and CD pipelines
- Strong Agile experience working in Scrum and/or Kanban models
- Proven track record of delivering high quality and consistent systems and environments for development teams
- Experience in project definition
- Ability to rapidly work with minimal supervision on projects involving both small and large teams
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
Preferred:
- AWS Solutions Architect - Associate or Higher certification
- Azure Developer/Solutions Architect
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in Containers and Kubernetes
- Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
