WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
The Senior Process Engineer will collaboratively support cement plant process, production, environment, and quality development to improve the plant's overall equipment efficiency, environment and costs by performing the following duties. They will serve as a role model in the areas of leadership, teamwork, customer focus, continuous improvement, safety and environment to ensure alignment with the company's vision and plants goals.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Provides guidance, training, support and feedback about the process routines in the cement plant;
- Interacts with all VCNA cement employees in the Production Department, Maintenance Department, Quality Control Department, Environmental Department, Quarry Department, Accounting Department and Human Resources Department to ensure control for IMS (Integrated Management System).
- Troubleshoots process, production, quality and mechanical problems;
- Ensures equipment efficiency by performing routine equipment and process, production audits;
- Optimizes process efficiency for the medium and long term; includes fuels, power and raw materials optimization and specification.
- Assists in identifying, studying the viability, planning, coordinating, and implementing of projects and programs that improve overall equipment efficiency at the plant.
- Supports plants expansions and start-ups during pre-commissioning and commissioning periods on production and process side under the direction of Corporate Process Manager and Plant Manager.
- Supports the Performance Action Plans (PAP). Under the direction of the Corporate Process manager, supports the physical and financial resources of site to ensure targets for productivity, production, costs, quality, and inventory are met or exceeded.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
- 5 to 8 years related experience in cement plants international carrier experience.
- Industry related courses in Cement Manufacturing such as mining, milling; kiln operation, process control, and predictive maintenance are desirable.
- Cement experience is a MUST.
- Fluency in English (French and Portuguese) are definite assets.
- Knowledge (technical/practical/managerial):
- Knowledge of cement technology, kiln operation, process control and cement manufacturing and mining.
- Process optimization, and root cause analysis.
- Health, Safety and Environmental legislative/regulatory requirements.
- Mechanical aptitude/experience.
- Familiarization of heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of SAP or Linkman.
