Software Engineer - Level 2

Why This is an Exciting Role:

As a Software Engineer - Level 2 at Boeing Intelligence & Analytics you will be responsible for:

  1. Analyzing user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
  2. Debugging existing software and correct defects
  3. Providing recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards
  4. Designing and code new software or modify existing software to add new features
  5. Integrating existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments
  6. Developing simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories
  7. Writing or reviewing software and system documentation
  8. Designing or implementing complex database or data repository interfaces/queries
  9. Developing or implementing algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards
  10. Assisting with developing and executing test procedures for software components
  11. Developing software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, conferring with users or system engineers; analyzing systems flow, data usage and work processes; and investigating problem areas
  12. Modifying existing software to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance
  13. Designing, developing and modifying software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design
  14. Designing or implementing complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints; Performing quality control on team products
  15. Implementing recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards
  16. Conferring with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces
  17. Coordinating software system installation and monitoring equipment functioning to ensure operational specifications are met
  18. Recommending new technologies and processes for complex software projects
  19. Serving as the technical lead of multiple software development teams
  20. Selecting the software development process in coordination with the customer and system engineering
  21. Ensuring quality control of all developed and modified software

Experience and Qualifications:

To be eligible for this demanding position, the ideal candidate should demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:

Required Education and Years of Experience:

  1. Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience).

Required Qualifications:

  1. Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  2. Experience with consuming and writing web services
  3. Experience assisting with development & execution of test procedures for software components
  4. Experience in ensuring software development adheres to 508 Compliance standards for accessibility
  5. Experience with generating & reviewing software/technical documentation
  6. Experience working in an Agile software development environment
  7. Experience using Jira and Confluence
  8. Ensuring quality control of all developed and modified software
  9. Experience with the following software development skills:
    1. Git
    2. React
    3. Java
    4. Spring Boot
    5. JavaScript
    6. Node.js
    7. JQuery
    8. AngularJS/Angular 2+
    9. MongoDB

Telework/Remote Availability: Hybrid model approved, up to 16-hours per week (dependent on team)

Work Location: Annapolis Junction, Maryland

Summary Pay Range: Please note that the information shown below is a general guideline only. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

$175,000 - $205,000
